Got a stock Thunderbolt and I think I'm ready to root and flash a new ROM. My T-Bolt is running 2.11.605.9.
I'm looking for a super fast and super stable ROM. Could someone please direct me to step by step instructions on how to:
1) Back-up my TBolt
2) Root
3) Flash a new ROM (what's...
What are the best Android tablets out there in the $200 range?
Also, I have an Android phone with Market and Amazon Appstore. If I get a tablet, can I use the same account(s) to put the apps I've paid for in the tablet or do I have to set up new Market & Amazon account for the tablet?
Just downloaded WidgetLocker for my Thunderbolt. But I'm noticing a faster battery drain than before and I'm trying to rule out WidgetLocker being the culprit. I also recently enabled LauncherPro Twitter and Facebook stream widgets. So one of these three items is zapping my juice. Any experience...
For those who downloaded the leaked Skype apk... how has it been? And since it's a leak, is it safe (meaning no one's added any code to it that might jack my phone?), etc?
Does Swype tracing stop working after you reboot your Thunderbolt? The key presses still work. But tracing gets locked.
Swype can be re-enabled if you select another keyboard and then Swype again.
When I use the stock dial-pad, it used to show my call history in the window on the top half. Now it won't show anything unless I hit the call history button on the bottom right. Even then, it shows the call history in its own screen and not inside the call history window in the dialer. What am...
I'm really digging Sense. But I find the Sense dock redundant to the capacitive Menu button. It would be cool if I can drop in my most frequently used apps (phone, sms, e-mail, browser) into the dock instead. For those who are using Launcher Pro Plus on their Thunderbolt, any issues? Lag...
When I have the TBolt to my ear while on the phone and move around, a lot of times it'll trigger the proximity sensor from going on/off. This alone is not a problem. But each time it does, it'll click in my ear. Anyone know how to turn the click off?
I'm an Android noob. And I'd love to root my TBolt, primarily to get rid of the bloatware. But is there a simple root process available or in the pipeline yet?
I'm looking for a widget to run on the very top grid line of my home screen that'll show a blurb of any SMS, e-mails, or missed phone calls I get. Is there such a widget - within Sense or on the Market?
My Thunderbolt is supposed to arrive tomorrow - my first foray into Android world from WebOS. Are you happy with the stock HTC Sense apps for:
1) Keyboard
2) SMS
3) E-mail
If you've downloaded a replacement app (Handcent, K9, etc.), please state the reason.
A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Clearwire for not providing advertised WiMax speeds (see linky). Is AT&T on the hook too for advertising and selling the Atrix as a 4G phone, but then throttling it back with a phone/network hadshake that's slower than iPhone? (see link)
Your thoughts?
For those who aren't grandfathered-in with unlimited service, and have to pay for tiered service, should you be paying for a service that isn't turned on yet?
I'm no lawyer... but being billed for something that doesn't exist yet has some legal consequences, no?
My thoughts after spending 30 minutes with the phone:
Pros:
- Beautiful phone with good build-quality
- 4" form factor fits in my hand like a glove
- Fast and snappy
- Motoblur didn't seem as bad as people make it out to be
Meh...:
- Photos looked washed out
Cons:
- What 4G?
- I live in...
Now that ya'll are receiving the Atrix, and getting less-than-iPhone4-3G speeds because AT&T won't be turning on their "backhaul" until allegedly late March... will you keep the Atrix hoping 4G speeds will get better?
Today is February 21st. Come late March, those who are receiving their Atrix...
