It's been a looong time since my Desire found it's way out of my desk drawer because I've moved on to other phones since but a friend of mine needs a replacement handset as her's is being sent in for repair!
Anyway, it's a rooted Desire with, if I recall correctly, a 2gb ext4(??) partition...
I'm having a bit of an issue using the "Top Contacts" widget that comes on the Xperia handsets and wondered if anyone could help??
Basically, 2 days ago I was happily using it as a shortcut to my favourite contacts on my home screen but since then I've done a factory reset due to some issues...
I'm running the MildWild based on Oxygen ROM on my Desire and am using the TouchPal keyboard (the phonepad predictive text one because of my huge sausage-fingers! ;)) but there is one feature that is driving me mad!
I can't seem to find any option anywhere to stop it putting a space after...
I am back using my Desire following an ill-fated visit to the local swimming pool with my Galaxy S2 sat quietly in my shorts pocket! :(
Anyway, it's been a while since I've used my rooted Desire and I'm sure the ROM that's on it (AceSMod007_v42_STOCK) is a bit out of date now!
Can anyone...
I'm a very infrequent Twitter user but I'm fairly sure that "Tweetcaster" is the app that is absolutely slaughtering my battery life!?!?
I've read a few threads that suggest changing the update interval, which I will try, but my more urgent concern is the fact that whenever I boot...
I've noticed just recently that my S2's battery has started to get hotter than usual when it's plugged in and charging - and now and again the battery life seems to plummet - even if it's plugged in and charging!?!?
It appears to sort itself out if I take the battery out, leave it...
My S2 is usually OK battery-life wise but last night I came to my phone and it was off and wouldn't turn on until I took the battery out for a few seconds and tried it again.
I didn't think anything of it and turned it off and plugged it in overnight as I usually do.
Switched it on this...
I am trying to stream video content from my nas to my tab and am struggling to get a media player to work!
I have been using the MX Video Player to stream to my Galaxy S2 but for some reason its stopped working and wont work on my tab either!?!?
I can use Rockplayer but I'm not keen on it...
My SGS2 has been updated to ICS today and for some reason I can't seem to stream video's from my NAS to my phone???
I have bought a Galaxy Tab 7.7 today and at first I thought it was just a problem with the Tab but it's definitely not working with my phone either!?!?!
Anyone got...
I have just started using Jorte and quite like the look of it but I want to know if I can change the default view once you "click" into it from the main widget view??
Here is my widget as it displays on my phone:
Here is the default view that I've set it to once you select the calendar...
I've not used my rooted (uNrevoked) Desire for a while but I want to get it ready for use in case my wife's phone falls over.
The problem is, it's so long ago that I did all the rooting etc that I can't remember what the correct procedure is!?!?
My Desire has a 16GB Micro SD...
Before I went for my S2 I had a Sony Ericsson Arc for a couple of weeks and one thing I really liked was the default keyboard!
Is there any way to get that keyboard on my S2?
I generally use the numberpad input with predictive text as opposed to the full qwerty keyboard as I find it easier...
I was out of the house with my laptop the other day and thought I'd see if I could set up wireless access to the net through my Galaxy S2.
I think I turned it on through the "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings" option and the laptop found the signal but wouldn't connect for some reason...
I use the default S2 e-mail client for my Hotmail account but just in the last week or so its started locking up my touch screen if I try to write or reply to an email!?!?! (I end up having to press the hard "home" key to get functionality back!)
Not sure if its related but about a...
I've just recently received my shiny new S2 and I'm wondering what the main reasons are that people on here have rooted theirs?
I had a HTC Desire and ended up rooting but that was primarily because of the shockingly small internal memory issue and since the S2 has no such problem - what other...
I'm not a fan of the qwerty keyboards (fat sausage fingers you see!) and am too slow for swype so I tend to use the keypad T9 keyboard but I just dont get on with the default on on the SII!?!?
Can anyone recommend me a decent alternative? I've tried the GO keyboard and while its...
I've received my new S2 today and started off by copying (simple cut & paste in Windows) my old phone photos and videos onto the S2.
When I did this it flashed up a warning on my PC saying that my new device might not be able to read these files (no idea why as they are simple jpeg...
I've been a happy user of the HTC Desire for over a year now and even went so far as to root it and try a few custom roms, which I have been well happy with!
Anyway, I'm out of contract in a couple of days and been toying with the idea of upgrading to the Galaxy S2 but its more than I wanted...
I've recently swapped to the Oxygen ASOP ROM and installed the HTC_IME mod and the Clicker_hi mod to enable the phone keypad predictive text method of typing (fingers too fat for the qwerty keyboard you see! :D)
My problem is though, whenever I type a single letter and choose it from the list...
I've recently rooted my phone and am currently using the ASOP Oxygen ROM which from what I understand means I cant use the HTC Sync software to sync my Outlook calendar at work to my phone calendar so I've installed MyPhoneExplorer to do the job!
Now I've managed to get the Launcher Pro...
I've tried a few ROMS and quite like the ASOP Oxygen build but I do need to be able to sync my work calendar (Outlook) to a calendar app on my phone (usually Jorte) - can this be done as there doesnt seem to be an option when I plug my Desire into my works PC!?!?
If its not...
Heres what I've done so far.....
- I've rooted using unRevoked (superuser shows up in app drawer)
- Made a goldcard (seperate micro SD card!)
- Ran nandroid backup
- Copied SD card contents to PC (including hidden folders)
- Ran gparted and made a 1GB ext3 partition on my 16GB SD card
All of...
I have a Hotmail account which I access through the mail app on my Desire and there is a setting which allows me to limit how many e-mails are downloaded to my phone at any one time (I have it set to 3 days so I dont have my entire inbox on my phone taking up space) but my wife has a Gmail...
I've rooted my phone today using unRevoked but now I'm a bit lost!
1) Do I need a "goldcard" and if I do, what exactly is one?
2) Do I have to do a "nandroid" backup and if yes, what is it and how do I actually do it?
3) Do I need to used "titanium backup" - again, what for and how...
I've reached the end of my patience with my Desire and its absolutely shocking internal memory!!! And so have decided to try rooting!
For such a great phone with almost limitless customisation options, the brick wall that you inevitably hit after installing a few apps is sooooo...
