I got one of those rubber/plastic $10 cases for my Amaze. It's decent, but it seems to be killing the WIFI signal. When I am in the same room as my router, the internet works fine, but when I am a few rooms over, I have to take the case off to get a signal. Does this happen with every case?

I tried to root with the tools in the root section. I got the bootloader unlocked and then I clicked the flash kernel button and now the phone is stuck on the htc logo when I turn it on. It's my first time trying to root so please go easy on me.
