Hey guys I wanted some input on battery life - and I know that everyone can have a different experience per each ROM and kernel combination, but I am looking for a kernel that has a really good standby time.
The best I found so far is Paranoid Android - and while I love this ROM and its kernel...
I have loved everything about my N6 since I bought it almost two years ago, with one exception. The battery life has never been great and has deteriorated over time. Perhaps this is because I charge the phone mostly on a wireless pad. About a year ago, I paired the phone to a smartwatch. The...
I broke the screen on my Nexus 6 the other day and because I needed a phone in a hurry I picked up a Moto X Pure. My Nexus was about a year old and worked great and even after I broke the screen and it is still working but the screen is black. I did a remote wipe on it but now I am debating if...
It popped up about an hour ago in my notifications. I run my stock N6 on Sprint in suburban Dallas. The OTA install went smoothly. The only glitch was that 43 apps from Amazon had to be individually reinstalled.
Currently, I've got my Nexus 6 activated to Ringplus. My plan is surfing 1.0, which offers 5K/5K/7K+ for free. I don't know why people complain about Sprint network, for me, it is working really well.
A new version of the Google Camera was found in the Pixel system dump that was leaked this month.
At the time, it wasn't working on any other smartphone, but community developers at XDA were able to port it to Nexus devices that are running Android 7.0 Nougat.
I had no idea. This is a great benefit to owning a Nexus. Plus, they don't self combust. ;)

Earlier today, Google published the October factory images for Nexus devices, but some were curious where Nougat was for the Nexus 6. The factory images for this update are now available, and the OTA is currently rolling out to users at this time.
The October edition of Google's Android Security update is heading out to multiple Nexus devices. The Nexus 6P, 5X, Nexus Player, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 WiFi, Pixel C, and Nexus 5 are all getting rollouts today. Factory images and OTA download links are available.
Facundo of Android Police just uploaded a re-review of the Nexus 6 now that it has been available for close to 2 years. He feels the Nexus 6 has aged well and that it should still be considered a relevant device thanks to the price it's going for.
Zachary of Android Police has put together a video that shows how the Nexus program has evolved over the years. Starting with the first Nexus phone, we see how the designs have changed throughout the years and what made each one special.
Hello, Just got an Unlocked Nexus 6 and added it to my Verizon plan. When I first turned it on it updated to 5.1.1 on Tuesday. Will it eventually get the OTA for Marshmallow? Running Stock/Non Rooted on Verizon. Is there a way for me to force it without rooting?
Thanks!
Hey, sometime now I had noticed my phone is slow and freezing up. I had tried using that Wugus tool numerous of times to do a restore but it is still freezing and still slow. So, what would be the best thing to do? For service I am using Project Fi.
HELP!!!!!!!
I have a nexus 6 I haven't used for several months. Now I have forgotten the pattern. I entered all the usual suspects with no luck. Now, I have 3 more attempts before it wipes my phone. There are some files that are very dear to on the phone.
Does anyone know how to get...
Google still hasn't explained the delay in getting Android 7.0 Nougat onto the Nexus 6 or Nexus 9 LTE. That said, we do get a vague expectation for its arrival with Google noting it will be available "in the coming weeks."
Looks like I picked a bad day to try and update android with the Wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit. I backed up everything and downloaded the factory image, got to the point where I have to select the file to flash and then realized the factory images are ZIP files instead of TAR/TGZ. The Toolkit does...
About a month ago, I started getting weather updates from preparedforweather.com. I have never heard of this site and don't have a clue how it ended up on my phone. I have not installed any new apps that I am aware of (at my age, anything is possible).
During the day, it displays a dozen or...
It's unclear exactly which update Verizon will push to the Nexus 6 on Monday, although Droid Life speculates it will be Android 7.0 (it could just be Google's latest security update though).
Still, Verizon has an OTA update scheduled for the Nexus 6 on September 12th, and we'll only have to...
As promised, Google is now allowing all Nexus smartphones running on Android 5.1 or higher to use Google WiFi Assistant - a feature which was previously available only to Google phone which used Project Fi. Nexus users will now be able to securely connect to trusted open WiFi hotspots.
Factory images of Android 7.0 Nougat are available for several devices, but the Nexus 6P is not one of them. Now Vodafone Australia has shed some light on what's going on.
Their support page says that the rollout of Nougat to the Nexus 6P has been delayed and Huawei is working to resolve the...
Late last week there were numerous reports from Nexus 6 users on T-Mobile (although other carriers were affected) saying they could not maintain LTE connectivity.
Earlier today, a Google representative has confirmed that this issue has been resolved, and that it was actually caused by the GPS.
