02 Unlatching code

Well, i vented my frustration at 02 about wanting Froyo, and they tell me they are not sure when android 2.2 will be ready , so they will send me an unlatching code. This they have done,and i tried my daughters orange sim card in the desire,and sure enough, it is now unlocked. I have been to HTCs site , and its says that its easy to update over the air , but I cant find the download Am I missing something here ?

I might be wrong, & I'm sure someone will correct me, but I'm sure that even though you have unlocked the phone from the network you are still running there custom ROM. To be able to download the OTA update you will need to flash your phone with a generic ROM.

Yes, as mentioned above, you would need a generic ROM, not the branded o2 ROM you are on now.

I got bored of waiting for o2 so i debranded my phone myself and got the ota 2.2 update from htc and am now running 2.2

It was very easy and well worth doing,to find out how just follow this guide i found on the o2 forums.
