1.6 ota update........

FWIW, since I got the update, my battery life has been terrible, the worst since the phone came out. It completely died on me for the first time in months (the last time that happened it was intentional to cycle the battery), and after 9 hours today, my battery is at the point it previously only hit after about 15 previously.

Edit: Also experiencing SD card problems for the first time.

to add i used to get about 35-40 hours on one charge before the wonderful update. i got off the charger at 6am TODAY and now i am at 20%

f'ing ridiculous nothing on my phone has changed except the 1.6 update (and some app updates cause 1.6).

If it wasnt for free google navigation i would beg to go back to 1.5
 
Hello to the group, This is my first post. I read all the posts regarding the 1.6 ota update and I decided to try something a little different. I called 611 from my Behold 2 and when the voice answering service asked me where i wanted to go I said Tech Support. I did this thinking they would know more than regular customer care reps. I read that the IMEI number might not be correct. mine was so They transfered me to android trouble shoot. Mentioned everything that was going on with the fact that most if not all did not get the update. She herd something about this and told me that to get there attention about this issue, you all should request a trouble ticket. That is what I did and i am now letting everyone here know this too. Not all t-mobile reads these forums. but they cant ignore a mass inflow of trouble tickets. Maybe it will help, Maybe not, But for a few minuets of our time it might make a difference.
 
Update on SD card issues. 3 Days now with my previously troubling card with no problems under 1.6

This is about the longest I have ever gone on this cars without it becoming corrupted so I am hopeful.

I think the battery needs to re-calibrate after the update. Give it a week.

I've never had the corruption issue, but something strange has happened with the update-- apps are unable to write to the SD card. It looks like uninstalling and then reinstalling the apps may solve the issue, but it's still quite annoying.
 
At 1:33pm Pacific Time I did yet another DM with the advice in an earlier post with making the shortcut with any cut. I was operating twiz stock from a system restore and the download stuck. I am on edge here in San Diego/Santee CA. and took
21 minuets to download.

1:54pm Congratulations screen rebooted
Progress Started At 7% went to 14% then rebooted again.

1:56pm second reboot started Progress bar was at 50%.

2:00pm Rebooted .

2:06pm got desktop.

Way Faster that 1.5

All my Apps seem to still work so far except for Copilot Live. Will re-Install.
Im still at work and cant play too much.

will update later.

I called tech support. Here's a paraphrase:

TS: Ah, yes, let me see if I can go ahead and push that right on through to you. Please hold.
Me: Uhhh...yeah. Let me hold my breath while on hold.
TS: Well, sir, it looks as if Samsung is the one who has to push that through, and they're doing those on Monday and Tuesday only, so call us back in a week if you don't have it.
Me: I was told by June 25th. If they did Mon and Tues, that's the second time I missed it. How about we fill out a service ticket now, and not wait until I miss it a third time.
TS: Yes, sir! We'll get this to Samsung, and they'll get with you in 72 hours or less.
Me: Yeah. Sure.

I should start a thread, "The many lies of tech support and CSR's for the OTA." In store I was told it was Google rolling it out. At this point I just laugh...and cry a little.

Still need another go at dumping the ROM with someone who has received the update and not modded their phone.

I've got a script ready to run to automate a bulk of it. Send me a PM if you can help in the evenings.
 
I have a Behold 2 and the advantage ofa friend that works at a T-mobile retail store. he scoured the internal sites on some sort of update and found a great page with a few tips. It said to have openhome and pandahome or whatever other homepage program you use uninstalled and also that they will push out the update only once a week between Monday night 11pm PST and Tuesday morning 6am PST. They said if it doesn't work it will be sent the following week. I turn my phone off at night, so that's probably my problem, but anyways, I hope this helps.
 
Haven't gotten this update, will be thoroughly watching this phone update today if it's true about the Mon. 11PM PST - Tues. 6AM PST

I don't really want to root this unless I need to and with Vibrant coming, I'm debating my fondness with Samsung.

I got my update last night at about 7:45pm EST (Sarasota FL). I didnt do anything to the phone but noticed the two arrows saying that a DM session was connecting. It then told me I didnt have enough battery to complete the update... I think it was low and i didnt have it plugged in. It then gave me the option to postpone the update for 1hr, 3hr etc... i chose 1hr and let it charge. I checked the phone an hour later and surprise surprise it was downloading the update and was already 75% complete... when it finished downloading i had 1.6.

Dude, why not me!? I'm in Saint Petersburg (hour north, for those of you who don't live in the best state in the union).
