Is there anyway to wirelessly tether without root FOR FREE?

if not can i root without losing my apps and contacts and stuff? they are mostly on gmail but whatever....... anyways if yes link to tutorial? :3

im on 2.2 btw

PDANet and EasyTether are both free for tethering non-HTTPS sites.

Oh yeah pdanet will work but is not wireless like u ask in ur first post. It requires a connection via usb.

Also, the free version of PDANet will not let you access secure (https) sites.
