Help 1 text message to read Notification (ICS issue)

i know. Are you able to help me anytime if i got any problem while doing this?like if im stuck or something.

Most people on the, "All Things Root", forum, know this guide and method of rooting, back-to-front and will be only too pleased to help you, help yourself! :D

TIP Read and complete each step of the, "Dummies Guide", before moving on to the next step. The hardest part is selecting the cF-Root kernel to use... which I've already done for you.

This is mentioned under, "Tip" in post #2 of the, "Dummies Guide", and the answer is yes.

You really do need to carefully read the guide first before asking questions. ;)

:hahaha: Who's Hawker!

Damn it... :musicus: I gave Hawker the credit by mistake.. was reading some post of his before this post... Sorry Ironass... I am a dumba$$ :stupid:

(You've got to cut back on the tablets, smoking and drinking Forbidden 403... trust me... I know  )
If I cut back on those how do you expect me to live... Nay, what do you expect me to live for?? :dontknow:

On the other hand I think I might be too sober now hence the mistakes... ;)

Hi guys,

Just moved over from the easy life of Blackberry to Android (not even been a week yet) and all was going well till I upgraded to ICS.

I Have a GT-l9100 running 4.0.3

The issue is, I receive a new text message, I read and reply to it yet I still see '1' in a circle over the message icon at the bottom of the screen. I went in to the messaging section in applications and cleared the cache and that just created more issues (all sms failed to send from then on), I rebooted the device and the icon was gone and I was able to send sms again.

I did try to search for a solution, but with no luck.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Im having the same problem. Im not interested in rooting, so does any1 know how to fix this problem please??

guys help me out. i dl odin and everything. now im stock on which kernel i need to get. help me so that i can root my phone. and btw i dont have any external sd card. do i need that to be rooted?

If any of you are still having this issue check to see if you have 'Don't keep activites' checked in 'Developer options'. I did but now it's unchecked the issue is resolved.

That seems to have fixed it. Il give it some time and fully confirm this ok. Cheers.

I've been running all afternoon yesterday and all day today and all my previous issues haven't returned. Everything is running as it's supposed to and I'm sure your device will be all good too.

I've only had the phone about a week and when I got it I noticed that apps were staying open in the background. Knowing this phone has such a shocking battery life I was looking at different options in the phone to disable and things to uninstall when I looked in the Dev options.

I checked that option hoping it'd save the battery, even a little but it made zero difference in the end.

I was having issues with FB and instagram hanging all the time and erroring so I thought that the app was trying to close so I unticked the option and everything started to work as normal.

All down to trial and error at the end of the day.

I had problems with fb aswel. I couldnt post a stats. Everytime i did it crashed. I literally just read ur reply and tried to post a status and its worked. Cheers mate. Uve stopped me from throwing my phone back at vodafone!!!! Lol.

The original post here mentioned that the user's SMS notification would still show new texts, even after all have been read after upgrading to ICS 4.0.3
I am actually on the updated ICS 4.0.4. I also downloaded official version through Kies. My texts keep showing as new/unread on the app notification. In addition to this I delete emails from the stock email widget, and an hour later they are back as "new." I only use stock messenger, and none of the social or media hubs, which of course can
