Samsung P600, using MX Player (the built-in VideoPlayer seems to abend before playing anything), trying to play a 1080i .MPG and it acts like it was being played over an N connection: ok for a few seconds, then it starts stuttering and cutting out.
At first I suspected the AC router (Ubiquiti UniFi-AC, just out of the box), but then I aimed an Asus UltraBook (which also claims to do AC) at it using Windows Media Player and it seems to play a-ok - at least no stuttering for the several minutes I watched it.
Maybe I need another codec on the P600?
Something else?

Turns out the issue was the file explorer I was using. Seems like, even after it starts playing, MX Player is going through the file explorer that started it and fed it the file tb played.
Problem app was "FX File Explorer". Replaced it with "ES File Explorer" and the problem went away and, coincidentally, MX Player started picking up where it left off when opening videos that it had played before. Always had that option enabled, but it never worked until I changed over to ES.
