Root 110% Fool Proof Root! (That Doesn't Exist Yet)

After reading over this, I'm not quite sure what to say. Has no one mentioned that the card must be formatted to FAT32? Does that PB file even need to be on the card any more with the new unrevoked?

I have rooted my incredible as well as several others without a single problem. Maybe if you can't seem to get it figured out after reading everything on this forum, rooting isn't for you.
I have formatted my sd card to fat32. i think there is an issue with NEWER phones that unrevoked has not yet had a chance to deal with. i will never stop trying this is my first "smart" phone and i am going to exploit every avenue until i achieve my goal. until then i will continue to study the process. i am just happy i am not the only one with this issue. it is a lonely feeling think you are the only one with a problem.

ok VERY STUPID newbie question. my phone has s-on. is that potetntially the reason unrevoked isn't working? should i have to run unrevoked forever FIRST?

unrEVOked turns s-off. This is the first step in rooting. After you turn s-off it will add ROM manager as well as the superuser app. At this point you will be rooted and be able to change ROMs if you want.

FINALLY!!!!!! i got fed up and went to a old pentuim III machine running win95 i had in the closet, dusted it off and tried it and it worked. i am still shaking with the andrenalin rush. i am really intrested in the miui rom out there. one day i will have the balls to try to install that.

any tips i guess i should make a nand backup(DONE)

what else should i do to be as secure a possible any tips/hints would be greatly appreciated.
