16 Gb non expandalble

Hey guys,

Considering getting one of these babies. However regarding the 16 gb of non expandable memory... how much of an issue is this ? Having never used Android before I'm a bit unaware of the applications space demands. I would probably carry 8 Gb of music for commuting joy, which would then leave 8Gbs of apps.. it seems pretty reasonable for me but you never know, some apps might use lots of data cache (i.e. maps, browser, mail...)

Around 1GB is set aside for apps. Most apps also support allowing data (or apps to sd) to be moved to the SD card so you get 1GB plus the portion moved over.

I would suggest that if you are using 8GB for music the remaining space is more than enough.

I have 292 Mb used and 716MB remaining in the 1GB partition and I haven't bothered to move any to SD yet (some do it automatically so there are a hand full of these). This includes 53 games and apps from the Market (many of them the larger paid games) plus the Google apps already on there.

I think that the NS storage situation is only an issue for people who want to use it as their primary music/video player. I don't and I'm happy with it.

I agree with Martin. Music isn't one of the Android strengths, I still prefer to carry an 80gb iPod around so the storage I use is mostly for photos and I'm not going to have any issues with storage space.

It depends what you want to use the device for. 16gb is plenty for media and the larger cards are pretty expensive anyway. It's not as big an issue as people are making out.
