Root 160 character boost?

Hey guys was bored so i decided to ask around if ya think its possible to boost the 160 characters without converting it to a mms? since me and mike were talking and he was having some issue with that but i think he got it fixed now. But i told him it might be server sided and nothing we change or modify on our phones but was worth asking. and i will add its not a biggie but something cool that we could experiment on :D

you want to take away our sms and make it mms? don't understand the question. I prefer having more characteristics on sms because not all people can receive mms on their phone to whatever plan they have on other carriers.
 
no i want the ability to send more than 160 characters but im afraid after speaking to pg and shabby on the irc channel they explained to me to not possible on a cdma phone and on a gsm phone it just auto converts a sms to a mms.... oh well was worth asking anyhow lol

Right gsm phones do it automatically but hey we try anyway

Do you know why is it that when typing spanish words with some sort of accent the number of characters significantly drops? I've been using swiftkey keyboard and I would always go from 160 to around 60

You know I have not noticed that have you checked your mms app settings

SPANISH ACCENT MARKS for mobile devices are counted as 2 bits instead of 1 bit for each normal letter thats what i read somewhere so if n is 1 bit
 
Yeah it might be something with the phone cuzz I know another member had the same problem but with different keyboard.
