Accessories 1750 mah battery at Best Buy!

Not me. i'm not gonna pay it.

Do you REALIZE the tremendous markup on a battery in a retail store??????

For example, a 60 cent watch battery sells for 5.00 (at a major retailer).

A 69.00 retail camcorder battery costs $22.

you figure the markup %age.

I like buying hardware from a known store and I don't mind paying full price if it comes with a warranty.

Cases and screen protectors I get from ebay.
 
Google "Platinum Series- Lithium-Polymer Battery for Most HTC Mobile Phones" and you can find the same battery for $8 to $30 at different retailers.
 
We just need to know if it fits the Inspire...:D

I like the idea of the extra mAh and this battery looks better than the $5 of ebay. Also the one on ebay is known to be about the same as the factory one in terms of real mAh's

I just googled Platinum Series- Lithium-Polymer Battery for HTC and founded that same one at 10 and 25 at ebay.

Might want to also add "and that it really is 1750 mah." Bet you 25 cents it isn't.

If someone offered you gasoline that "doubles your mileage", would you guys buy it without proof of its claims?
 
I can say with 100% certainty that sadly the 1750mah battery will NOT fit. I was in Best Buy this morning to get a screen protector and have a look at said battery for my new Inspire. It's for the EVO and WAY to wide to fit the Inspire.

The package had been broken open by someone else and the mobil phone dude let me try to fit it. He was really curious himself as he had and Inspire on his hip.

I have no doubt it was a true 1750mah battery as it was much bigger then the factory battery from my phone.

can someone link to a cheap, longer lasting battery on ebay?

I see you guys talking about them. Google comes up with 100 different options. Looking for a longer lasting battery for my inspire that actually fits it, and is cheap. From what you guys are saying, sounds like they're a dime a dozen? Post a link to one you bought plz...
 
No "reputable" firm has been able to offer better than a 1300 mAh battery for the Inspire/DesireHD (and the DHD has been on the market for several months). What are the odds that nameless companies in China have some magical LiPo chemistry that offers 25% more power at 1/10 the cost? If you really think that a cheap Ebay special is actually going to perform better than stock/Siedio/Mugen, then I have a parcel of swamp ... er ... well irrigated land that you might want to buy :)

The cheap 1600 mAh Ebay batteries are at best, no better than stock, and at worst, a time-bomb waiting to swell or catch fire and cost you a lot of grief. Not saying you shouldn't go that route, but if you do, you better lower your expectations. About the best you can hope for is a cheap second battery that performs as well as stock.
