There is a huge harm. In the Inspire, the battery fits between the back and the screen. If the cheap battery is a little over-sized and then swell during charging, it will crack your screen. There are several reports of it happening. And it will not be covered by warranty.They're cheap, so there's no harm in giving it a shot
The positive experiences are baloney. They are the product of two phenomena:I know a few others have claimed to have had positive experiences, I might just have been unlucky 4-5 times.....
Having my fingers in this field, I can tell you that there is nothing better on the horizon that will replace LiPo during the 3-4 year life of the phone (not that most phones are used for that long).Whilst you are correct, I don't think it's unreasonable of people to wonder if larger batteries may be available in the months/years after release. Battery technology has got to be one of the more slowly developing areas of technology; we're accustomed to big advances in short periods of time with other things.
