Help 1920x1080 way too ZOOMED?

Hi gents, you guys seem you know what's up so I figure you could help me from pulling more hair out. When I am in CAMERA mode, beautiful. Viewer looks great, sharp, etc. When I flick over to VIDEO it is at least 3x zoomed and the viewer image looks grainy. I get "zooming is not supported while shooting full HD video" on the screen. The last thing I want to do is zoom anymore! I have switched to 1280x720 and it looks like is at 1x like when I'm on CAMERA. Then I switch back to 1920x1080 and I'm back in mega world. I've been through all the settings and nothing can switch the ZOOM.

Can you guys please switch back and forth between your camera/video toggle and let me know if you are getting the same ZOOM in 1080p?

I will try and play with this this weekend. Been waiting on my new phones to come in :P
 
I think I just have to downgrade to 720 recording. The auto 3x zoom in 1080p is ******ed. The higher the resolution, you should see more in the viewer, not way less.
 
So far it has done it to me on stock and all other roms

I am going to try LG camera from the market and see what it does
