Root [1st Gen] Random Reboots 1st Gen Kindle Cyanogen 10.2 stable otter

I need help/advice. I'm relatively new to flashing but I flashed my wife's 1st gen kindle. My problem is that it reboots randomly throughout the day. Wife playing a game and it just crashes and reboots no matter which game. It has a mind of its own. I've wiped cache/dalvik,fixed permissions, etc. I'm afraid to factory reset and re-flash because she may loose all her saved app data which is what she cares about. Any advice would help as this was supposed to be a gift but it has grown into an annoyance for her. Thanks in advance.

First you should try to back up app data, i like Titanium Backup Pro
but there are other options
also should create a nandroid (full system backup)

next verify that the rom file you installed was downloaded completely
see my [How to] Verify that your downloads are complete with
MD5/SHA-1 Hash Checksums

md5 should be posted on the roms original download page

if md5 is correct, may see is there is an update
minor updates normally can be installed over older without wiping data
if there is no update, you can try re-installing rom without wiping data

you could have a bad app causing the problems, wiping data is the fastest way to fix but you can try uninstalling one at a time or freezing with Titanium Backup.
