I just did my 1st SBF. Scary moments at first. Failed 1st time. But, did some searching & reading here and low and behold....all the answers I needed!

Thanks for being such an amazing group of people so willing to help and take the time!

Now I just wish I could get mine to work. I'm stuck at the bootloader screen as soon as it gets past the red moto logo...

If you continue to have difficulty, boot into recovery and do a factory data reset. Hold the home key down and then hit the power button until you see \!/. Once there, hit the search key and you'll be in recovery. In recovery, scroll down to factory data reset and hit the button under the "ok". :) You should be good to go.

I got it taken care of. For some reason when I flashed Gingerbread something went wrong and once it went past the red moto logo it popped up on the bootloader screen. It wasnt possible for me to get into stock recovery from there. I was having trouble with my SBF failing right away but I found an old thread that helped me to fix it :) scary moments. Also, I did my SBF at 30% battery, I read you should have 80? why?

because at 50% battery level the bootloader is set not to be able to operate! A lot of people have been messed up from that. The problem is that if you brick and you have less than 50% you can't get back because the battery won't charge in a bricked state. Motorola's software has it set for that. Don't ask me why.

Congrats! I went a head and SBF'ed for the first time yesterday too. I have been very lucky through the past year and a half (from the OG Droid to the DX) and have never needed to. I thought that it would be safer to go ahead and take the plunge, because if P3Droid said that is what I should do before loading GB then that is what I was going to have to do.

This is an awesome community! From every one here that has helped me in the past, I can say that is why I will be Android forever.

You are all lucky. If you knew the trouble I went through.. One hour one night and then four hours the next day..
