Help 2.1 - 1.6 possible?

Hiya all, only 2nd post here....

Wondering if it's possible to roll back my LG GT540 to Android 1.6?

Ever since I updated it, had nothing but problems. EG. Not receiving text messages until it seems enough get back logged then get spammed at early hours of the morning, constant "Server not responding" when ever I open SMS window. And countless other issues.

Will try search (I know, should have before posting, but I'm a search-******, my results often come up with total opposite what I'm looking for!) but putting the question up first to get some advanced feedback, since you lot seem to be pretty knowledgeable from what I've read so far.

You can't downgrade once you've upgraded... Contact where you've bought the phone from...

i was able to make mines bak to 2.1 V20C but i was told if u needed it to reflash it cost $45 in Lidcombe, Sydney New South Wales, Australia... Contact the LG Support

You can't downgrade from 2.1 to 1.6... You can switch between 2.1 ROMs... Btw, you can reflash easily with KDZ Updater...

I was told by the LG support that you cant go back to 1.6 if you dont have a Recovery disc. but i had the exact problem with my phone and after a hard-reset: www.hard-reset.com - LG Optimus GT540 hard reset - PDA Smartphone PNA hard reset soft reset everything worked perfect.
