Root 2.1 Leak Root or rollback status?

Trust me, you'll know when a solution is found. Follow the status thread. Any progress made I'll post in there.

i hope they figure something out. . . kinda feelin a little salty for jumping the gun with the 2.1 leak but oh well. good luck to the people working on it and i hope it can be done soon.

I hope that the devs just wait for 2.1 official release so that we don't get another case of nearly everyone already upgraded.

i have tried everything(and i mean everything!!!!), downgrading at this point is not possible :(

Oh...I believe you. I know that the first thing to be done was to try to go backwards because that made the most sense. So are you gonna give a go @ rooting 2.1 OTA or did this burn you out?

Ha! Good to know! :) I guess the better question, is it worth bothering with Eris any longer or will the devs move on to other phones now. It's been easier to get into the preacher's daughter than this darn phone! And now we start over...

well, put it like this...the incredible could be out on verizon next month :)
though...i believe eris will have a following that last for longer than the shelf life of a smartphone (6months).

I agree. Once all versions of the Eris OS get root, then IMHO there will be no reason to get rid of it for at least a couple of years. At least for me that is.

EXACTLY!
Think of it this way, by the end of April, Verizon will more than likely have HTC Incredible and Google will have the CDMA version of the Nexus One available!
Both sporting snapdragon 1ghz capabilities....FAST!
I already have a kitchen and a couple other Dev friends of mine are collaborating on Nexus One w/Sense ROMs :)

I know for certain im getting the incredible.
I more than likely will not be able to upgrade to an N1 is the issue...
I`m on a family plan :(
no deal cause the incredible is still...INCREDIBLE! :)

I just got my Eris at the end of December so maybe I'll be lucky and Verizon will have LTE phones out when I'm ready to upgrade again.

I'm definitely rooting for the Dev's to get the 2.1 leak rooted. All tis talk about custom Roms and live wallpapers and WiFi tethering I envy all of you with root

I kind of don't want to update my phone until there is LTE/4g...

I am with you on that, but I was lucky enough to get my Eris off ebay for a good price. So now I just need to convince myself not to use my upgrade in May and wait a year before I get a new phone (highly doubt that is going to happen).

Oh, that would never fly with me. That would just be my holdover till the next year when, hopefully, 4G would be available. :D

I talked to a guy in my networking class that works for Verizon, and he said that his manager dropped his Eris in the toilet, and as a replacement device they were going to send him the Incredible. I'm taking it with a grain of salt, but I told him when he gets it, take pictures and let me see them. If Asurion (or whoever the insurance co is this week) is giving out Incredibles as new replacement devices, I might just have to just ship off of my 2.1 Leaked Eris and get on that boat.
