2.1 or 1.5

Currently I am rooted and running 2.1 Hero, Sprint sent me a new Hero with 1.5 should I update to 2.1 then root or just stay with 1.5 and root and go like that??? One more thing, can I root that new phone before I activate it??

IMO, there is no point to do the update. Rooting from 1.5 and 2.1 both accomplish the exact same things. Not worth the extra steps IMO.

I would activate it prior to rooting it... but that's just me.
