hey guys, been creeping the forums for like a month, finally decided to post...

since it might be awhile for the ota to hit everyone, i was thinking it would be good to get the word out to ppl who have the update notification to mount the sd card and upload the PB00IMG.zip (at least that's what the file was called for the leaks, and what it must be called for the bootloader to recognize)

so yeah. someone more knowledgeable should make a "what to do if you get the update notification: how to upload" thread

Don't need to get it off the card, we just need its URL. Here, read this post from jcase on XDA:

If you are interested in looking at the process that HTC/Verizon uses 
for the OTA updates, you can get the URL for the OTA zip the following way:

Run logcat on the pc and accept the update on the phone

$ adb logcat > logcat_accept.txt

This will sit like this (it continues to log output into the output file) until the 
phone reboots. At that point, the adb logcat job will terminate, and the 
name of the zip file will be indicated in the logfile in a message similar to:

W/SystemUpdateHelper( 64): !!! REBOOTING TO INSTALL /cache/desirec-ota-104882.7b1e5cca.zip !!!

Then, take the name of the file and paste it on the end of 
android.clients.google.com/updates/partner, for instance, for the Eris 
1.17.605.1 OTA, the complete url is:

https://android.clients.google.com/updates/partner/desirec-ota-104882.7b1e5cca.zip

i got v3 and i got the map update to yo its sweet but i poseted in another thread that i talked to a rep and she said if u dont get it withen the next two days that it will be on the vzw web site ;P

maybe so but software number sugests its something else.i have V3 on my phone and its 2.36.605.1. the number in the pic is 605.2

Possibly...either way it doesn't seem to be the OTA. Not to mention it was posted yesterday.

I have v3 and mine says 2.36.605.1. The one in the pic appears to be 2.26.605.2, unless my eyes are deceiving me.

According to the update instructions, you can get it via wifi.

Sorry to say but i wouldnt really Trust much of anything Verizon has to say.My GF is Data tech for Lincoln,Ne Call center and i texted her just before my call to HTC and she looked in on it and couldnt find squat about it.
