2.1 OTA Beginning 5/11/2010

lol i'm just messing with you guys i'm on v2 leak idk if i will even get the ota 2.1. honestly i don't think anyone even has the ota. i have 3 friends one who lives in florida, new jersey, and savanah georgia. all run 1.5 and have 3g on and i told them to let me know if they get the ota update. untill one of them get it then i'll have to say no one has the ota 2.1 update yet

hehe ive had my share of being a machinist and that type of programmimg is far more different then programming a C&C.

...and are at work so don't have access to the stuff needed to do it. But if you are going to post a "got it" post at least give a little more information...like if you are on 1.5 or if on leak which one....and maybe what part of the country you are on so that maybe a pattern can be seen (if there is a pattern).
 
Has anybody from New Jersey received the update yet? Also as anybody on leaked 2.1 v3 receive the update? If not, then is anybody who is on 2.1 V3 going to do a manual install of the OTA (BTW: what is the PDA or something site that has all the updates?)? Also if oyu are doing the manual install of the OTA is it done, the same way has we installed our leaked versions of 2.1?

dont beleive there is a pattern.......prolly just a pull of ESNs and send OTA.
 
after looking around on other forums on the net, this is the only place where Ive seen screen shots on the real OTA....Not that I dont believe any of you...but I dont believe any of you :-) Sorry

i was at work. 3:30 am, was on 1.5 and in western ny. south of buffalo

I would love to, but I can't make sense out of the directions. Feeling a bit stupid today, but I don't know if I'll be able to log it.

I'll let you know if I get it on my v3, though.
 
The requests for logging the OTA update will reach critical mass in t-minus 10 minutes and counting.

Allow me to put it more eloquently....


To those that may have received the notification that the 2.1 OTA Update is available for your device, please take the following request into careful consideration. If you are in any position to where you do not need your device for some time, please turn off your phone and wait to power it on when you are by a computer and follow the instructions below.

Once at your computer, or a computer you can install the Google SDK to along with HTC Sync, collect your thoughts and the logging directions re-posted here on the forums. Then, and most importantly, share the log file with the community


That is all.
 
I wonder if I'm teasing myself by sitting here waiting for the update and watching the boards since im on a verizon employee account:confused: i may not even get the update until all there main accounts are good.......Damn it,i just wanna cry now:mad:
 
Quick question:

I run Ubuntu at home. Does anyone have any idea how (or if I can) run the SDK from my desktop there?

If I get the update, I'll log it. But, I need to know if I can do it from Ubuntu. (Or for that matter, a virtual machine setup for Win XP)
 
Damn Weather Channel Alert...came back into my office picked up my phone and saw this bright red exclamation mark notification, thought it was the OTA...Nope, flood warning for SE Michigan!!! Who cares if SE floods right now, there are more important things going on, like a 2.1 OTA!!!!

Oh well, will continue to wait, typically in the past I away got my update notifications first thing in the morning...figured this would be the same.
 
i didnt know you could log it. dont know how to upload screen shots either. thought i would post it so you guys knew it was coming. sorry mrnatsas19, i have to hold down a job and raise two children. didnt have time to sit here figure out how "log" the update like i would be one of the first in the nation to get it.

brave soul for admitting your a verizon rep at this point on this forum but definitely relieved to see that at least one rep is informed at the same token

haha......i hear ya.My G-mail is dinging like nobodys business.any other day i wouldnt see so much as 1 email :mad:
