I've been following this thread all day but don't think I've seen this answered - does the official OTA update fix the 50% without signal bug? I know it's just cosmetic, but would be nice to be fixed...

My eyes are bleeding, but I think someone on here posted that it does not fix that problem. It might have been the guy that posted all the pics of his phone updating to 2.1, but a little further along after the pics.

Thanks bro. The info to noise ratio has dropped so much (27 pages now) it's pretty hard to find the useful stuff.
 
As I stated before hit the send button hit *#*#checkin#*#* give the phone a second and the official update will pop up in your notification bar, and download it it. It takes about 15 mins it saves it to your SD card 77.8mb, it backs up all your apps, and to get contacts back go into Sync, and your off. Its not hard. I did it today while at work.

This doesn't work unless you have already been picked to receive the update.

You literally had to look one page back to see the profanity in question. Instead of making useless posts encouraging rudeness, perhaps you could contribute to the forum. From this point on I will not comment on posts that are rude or offensive, I'm just going to report it to the mods.
 
AT 2039 hours I had an update available.......DARN it was only an pdate for an app. Waiting sucks.

There really is no need to get agitated. In a few weeks when we all have the update, this thread won't even matter anymore. I've waited several months for an update, and have not succumbed to the "leak" peer pressure, and I can wait another few weeks if need be. Tomorrow, I'm sure there will be many more that have gotten the update, with many more the day after that. Just be patient,..........and civil! ;)

I tried the checkin thing and it pops up in my notification bar "checkin success result" but then nothing happens when I click in it. Guess its not my turn yet. :^(

only worth doing if your trying to update apps prior post must have just been a coincidence or something else im not one to point fingers
 
I posted on the VZWSupport (Twitter) the following question...

@VZWSupport Do any of you guys (answering questions) have an Eris? If so, have you received the update?

...I have yet to receive a response (it's been over an hour).... guess I touched a nerve (they were answering all of my other questions fine throughout the day)... :/

well they said we would still get it earlier today like 10 am and now they seem to have proof so hopefully we can all take solace in this and let out a big sigh ( for what its worth, of course none of us believe it till it actually pops up on our phone) and just wait and bide our time and soon we will all be playing with our new toys !! yes i said toys :D
