So have people with the OTA gotten the 50% time without signal bug? I guess it doesn't really have an effect except maybe on battery life but it'd be nice to not have it at all.

try the *#*#checkin#*#* dial that and dont press send jus wait for the notification to pop up
If it is a system update you go in to settings>about phone>system updates and it will be there.
If its not there, it was an app update. Go in to market>my downloads, and you will see which app has an update waiting there

That is just for market app updates, and has no effect on system updates.

Now we have many confirmed reports of the the 2.1 OTA coming in... is it 100% confirmed that the v3 leak is IDENTICAL to the 2.1 OTA? (Meaning that the other features promised in the PDF are a red herring?)
So far, this seems to be the case. It looks like a copy-paste screw-up on Verizons part as far as the PDF goes.
LOL, Rochester NY, I thought I would be the only member from this little city. I still don't have 2.1.
Is it a consistent 3 bars? I have a prob now it the sig goes from 1 bar to 3 bars to no bars all in the same area hoping the update fixed it
Well, I just got it last night! Got out of Iron Man 2 and my Eris said I had a system update. Has anyone else got it?
I'm kinda disappointed. First off my Buddie got an Incredible which is SWEET! But the Eris's 2.1 update is more like 2.1 Lite. I may be alone on this but here's what I was looking forward to but much to my chagrin, didn't get.
1. No Live Wallpaper - I was psyched to get those cool wallpapers but they aren't there??? The Moto Droid got them and the Eris has just about the same hardware capabilities to support them. What gives?
2. No Friend Feed - The hyped up friend feed that combines FB and Twitter is left out of this one. Just the standard Sense Twitter.
3. No New 2.1 photo album GUI - The cool new photo album GUI that I've seen on most 2.1 updates isn't in this one. The pinch to zoom has always worked for the photos but the album's are no different, just list's we are use to.
4. No New Weather App - That weather app that gives you a sweet Graph view of the days temp and forecast... nope.
5. No Voice to Text in Messaging - I was looking for the microphone key in the keyboard when texting. It's not there? Granted the voice to text emulation is much much better. Handcent has always had this feature but I was hoping the messaging app would finally get it too.
On the plus side:
+ The OS just seems faster all around - Pictures load much faster, inputs respond better.
+ It didn't wipe everything off my phone like everyone said it was going to.
+ The new pinch zoom home screen with consolidated desktops works really well. Granted I don't know how much I'm going to use it.
+ The Google Maps is updated with Navigation - The navigator app is cool, easy for driving and quick access to people, navigation, voice search, etc.
+ Most of the traditional sense widgets have some cool tweaks - Calendar, Twitter, Sync Now... and a link to search for more HTC sense widgets.
+ The camcorder/camera is updated with all the cool settings and enhancements.
Overall it's a great update. The phone is performing much better. However all the hyped whistles and bells I saw and read about are missing which kinda stinks.

I know on the comments on the site it says people with the 2.1 leak cannot do this update.
