I work here and I didnt know until I saw that post.... then I ran into infomanager and there it was delayed with the worse thing a person in waiting can see "TBD" might as well say we have no clue when... Sorry guys I was waiting for it too.

haha, Hey everybody my name is so and so and first I want to say a big F U to Motorola! Oh and F Vzw too!

We feel the pain although I am no longer waiting for 2.1, the delays and the fact that I already have everything in the Droidmod Rom kinda makes me yawn at the thought of the 2.1 update. Maybe 2.2 I will get more excited.
 
A tipster is pointing the finger at Bitfone who actually manages the distribution of the updates for Motorola. We have seen problems with other OTA updates from Motorola (CLIQs to BRIQs) so this really isn’t that surprising. We wish Motorola and Verizon the best of luck, and hope this OTA goes out without issue.
From our anonymous tipster: “Not sure if you’ve heard, but the real reason for the latest delay on the Android 2.1 update for Droid phones is due to Motorola’s distribution vendor (Bitfone- now owned by HP). They are having capacity problems with a) the Bitfone application that distributes the updates and b) capacity issues with the current network infrastructure that hosts this application. I spoke to one of the engineers personally and they mentioned that Motorola reps have been “bugging them all day” because of the 3/18 commitment date.”
 
If this was an issue why dont they just upload it to their site and show people how to do the update.zip update so they dont have to worry about any of this...

I unrooted this morning at 9:30 and was all set for the "leak" download.. Good thing I made a new nandroid backup.. By 1:30 I was back to 2.01/2.1 Droidmod.. Oh well
 
everyone involved in this simply sucks at life. how are you gonna tell thousands of people that you're gonna do something and at the last minute say, oops we can't really do that. bastards.
how about this, on 3/19 i promise to send out 100 bucks to a thousand people and more people everyday after that.....at the last minute i might find a small bug like i'm poor and delay it forever.

Wow... makes you REALLY appreciate the developers of Bugless Beast, DroidMod, Adamz, Chevy, SetCPU, Cyo... et.al for keeping us hi-tech and two steps ahead of the game! Definitely would be chompin at the bit for updates if it weren't for DroidMod!
 
I don't get why everyone is waiting on the 2.1 update. I mean, we have the SBF for 2.1. We've had it forever. If you guys are so anxious, you could have had 2.1 for the past two or three weeks and it doesn't even require root, just installing RSD Lite on your computer...
 
I know you guys are so excited about the release of 2.1, but like shadowdude777 said, we have had 2.1 or parts of it for some time. Why isn't anyone talking about speculation surrounding the release of flashplayer 10.1? I don't know about yall but I'm stoked about hulu meets droid!!
