Root 2.1 Root Add-On'S :D

since its an APK, i still need to go through the steps on how to install APK on my X8
:( i think thats really what i need to do. thanks Vince! :)

do you have astro file manager? donwload it from the market.....open it and look for your apk file (should be in your sd card). select the apk file and the app manager will launch. select install!
 
haven't tried market yet but will do tomorrow. so once i have this Astro File manager, that means i can install any APK files to my x8 (and to SD once i got APPS2SD) anytime right? no more doing the manual installation using SDK via my PC as long as i have any APK files, is this correct?
 
i can't seem to connect to android market. i can connect to the internet fine via WI FI but when i use the android market icon, it always stop after verifying my google account and wont proceed stating i can't connect to the data server. does this means that android market is not available in the philippines? please advise. thanks!

re: market, i'm also in the phils. and i can access the market. do i get it right that you can browse through the internet but not the market? is this the first time that you're going to access the market since you got the phone? if not, try to uninstall the updates. to do that, go to settings/applications/manage applications/android market/uninstall updates. after that, reboot the phone, and launch the market.

this procedure worked for me, as i experienced the same problem each time i change my framework.
 
thanks vince. yes this is the first time. i can access the net but not the market.

i tried doing what you said:

settings/applications/manage applications/ here i only see market/ and then i don't see any options to uninstall updates. the only thing i see is Force Stop. Am i looking at the correct setting here?
 
root only so far bro (by following suhels tutorial, the easiest one). i was trying to access the market to download root explorer as you have advised to follow and install xrecovery and this is where i got so far

edit: i was now able to install root explorer via my PC. now im installing Xrecovery and having problem copying the 3 files to the system/bin directory. the only file that I was able to copy was the chargemon. i tried copying all of them but i can't find the busybox and xrecovery file to set permission. SU is enabled and i tried it a couple of times but im still not able to find the other 2 items. i don't want to reboot my X8 as im afraid it might die on me. help!
 
HELP MEE! i've bricked my phone. I installed JIT and now phone cant boot up and keeps restarting after SE logo . WHAT TO DO?

Damnit i cant repair my phone with SEUS , because my phone cannot connect to the pc. Phone keeps rebooting and i cant even turn my phone off cuz when i hold power button sutpid xrecovery turns on . I tried factory reset (xrecovery) , but that didnt help. Damn , i knew i had to make a backup!! Now i think the only chance to repair it is that someone make a JIT disabler.zip file which i could instal through xrecovery. T_T Well i can acces my sd card with microsd adapter and i thought it was a good idea to delete everything on the card.. I BET IT WAS NOT! ahh


OK. My suggestions:

2.can i restore my phone (via xrecovery) with others x8 backup file?
3. installing custom ROM ?

OK now i managed to connect to PC companion , tried to repair , but that didnt work ahhh.When i have to turn off my phone ,i cant do it , so i take out my battery, hold right button , connect mUSB and then mount the battery.Everything seems ok , green light is on , but when it starts updateing it shows me this

OH nevermind dude. Just installed Jit disabler via xrecovery and it worked!! omg thank you jesus!!

DAMN.Now i can boot my phone , but i still cant repair it. Maybe i have to unroot it firsT?

Is that a question? As Suhel asked, why do you need to charge with phone switched off? If it's so imperative just set it in airplane mode.
 
Are you using google translate? Maybe I'm on my dumb period today but WHAT? So it still isn't a question because it doesn't have a question mark (?). Are you sayng that if someone wants to wipe his battery stats with xRecovery (which I presume is battery usage info) then he must charge the phone while off?
 
finally! got Jit enabled as well! just wondering, do i really need to connect to the net for me to get the benchmark results using Quadrant?
 
i've tried to install JiT but i'm stuck at step 1, after type <adb pull /system/build.prop build.prop>, got <error:device not found>

i've copied all 3 adb files from superoneclick to the C:\.
where did i do wrong? can someone help me? thanks..

Is ur Phone connected to PC and the SDCARD isn't mounted??

Or if u have "Root explorer" Go to /system and click mount R/W.. Then long press the build.prop file and copy or edit using text editor.

from my understanding, i should create the file 1st in my pc..rite?
then edit the code..connect the phone after done editing to copy the JiT file and folder..correct me if i'm wrong..

btw, tried already connecting the phone 1st n unmount the sd card but didn't work..help me, i'm not pro in this thing..:(
