2.1 Text Problems to Blackberry?

So I have 2.1 loaded on my Eris, and, while I haven't texted a lot, maybe 20-30 times total, I'm starting to see a trend. It seems that if I text someone who has a Blackberry, about 95% of my texts result in the message fail dialog, but they actually went through. Texts to other Erii or dumbphones have never resulted in the error, but the two folks that I text with who have blackberrys continually error.

Anyone else seeing this?

Hmmm, just switched to the stock Messages app and the problem went away. This seems to be a Handcent issue...

yeah i can only send pic messages from the stock app if i want iphone friends to get them, havent had any trouble to other phones though with chomp. I like handscent but it seems to be a disaster on 2.1

FYI: I got notification today that there was a new version of Handcent out. I downloaded it and test. It seems to have fixed the problems I was having with it and 2.1.

If that's the case them I'm back to Handcent like stink on....

It was a Handcent issue for me, regardless of what phone I was going to. Uninstalled, problem over. I SMS and MMS to blackberries all the time w/o trouble now.

Chompsms is just as good if not better than handcent

I think Handcent just had an update so see if it works now. They supposedly fixed that issue.

Correct, I'm running it now. Unfortunately, it now has ads at the bottom of the screen :/

Damn them. O well, hopefully they'll have a pay version soon to get rid of the ads.
