You can do that without root, just get MyBackup Pro and that's it. :) Best backup/restore app ever, I swear.

I've used it, titanium backup beats it by a mile. Also I can still use titanium backup now as 2.1 can be rooted :)

We have different opinions, who doesn't, leave it at that

Besides, an app that requires root obviously has features that a non-rooted app cannot do
 
Thanks to too many damn threads on the update, I have NO CLUE where to put this (this is ridiculous guys), so I'm just going to cross-post it.

I found this in the Comments section of the Sony Product Blog, someone claiming to know a slightly more detailed time-table; the only problem? No indications on how he knows this information, so it could all be bogus. But I figured I'd post it "just in case":

timetable:
UK – tomorrow noon
Germany – Monday
France and Benelux – Tuesday morning
Spain, Portugal – Tuesday evening
Italy, Greece – Wednesday
Russia – Thursday
Eastern Europe – Friday, except Poland (because of the NK application incompatibility, which is investigated now)
The rollout to other regions should finish before Nov 15

It wasn't me who pulled up another app claiming it's "better by a mile"...

No, it's absolutely not obvious. Have you ever wrote a single line of code?
There are plenty of ways to get one things done and since MyBackup Pro can literally back up every single system settings of yours I'm more than puzzled by your comment after you claimed you know it...

I'm not just talking about the fact it can backup settings, I mean titanium backup also has features that MyBackup does not, such as uninstalling pre-installed apps

Also, if you cannot provide a source for your above post, it is assumed to be not true. Now I'm not saying it isn't true because I obviously don't know, but alot of people will assume you are lying without a valid source

Well given that its wednesday now and i still have no update im guesing the source wasnt accurate. Just like sonys Time frame then lol.
Im in UK running Standard FW on a Generic Sim free phone, and still no sign of it. Didnt see the point in the Nordic flash, for the sake of a few days, Im a farley patient guy, but im getting restless now.
 
Ahh God bless you, bit early in the day for me to be drinking - sun has to be over the yard arm (actually have no idea what that means - I can feel a google search coming on) but I'll have one later.

The Sun is over the Yard Arm (or Fore Yard) Naval officers' expression meaning "It is time for a drink", it is bad form to have a drink on board before sun is over the yard arm, i.e. approaching noon. However the expression when it came ashore is generally given to mean late afternoon around 5pm.

My interpretation was as a land lubber, but I could turn all naval or even piratey and go for the mid day option!
