2.1 update

ok, I am new to these forums, so im sure these questions have been answered a million times before. But i am wondering how close is the 2.1 update and flash to being available for the Droid. Also, how do you update it, is it in the market or will it just happen automatically? Thank you for your comments and answers.

aaaahhhhhhhhhhhh! NOT AGAIN!

It will be out soon, flash will not be included, and it will be OTA. OTA means Over The Air and your phone will automatically notify you when it is available, then you can press update and it will do it for you. Please search, just because this has been asked over a million times.
 
The real answer is, it seems that NOBODY knows. Not even Verizon themselves. Yes, it's kind of annoying. But it'll get her when it gets here. Just rest in knowing that each day we're one day closer.

You are new so my advice is :

FORGOT EVERYTHING ABOUT MOTO 2.1 UPDATE !! It's always in "COMING SOON" mode and don't trust anything MOTO and VZW said until you see the OTA notification on your phone.
 
yeah, when it gets here it gets here is the mentality most of us have, its sad but it makes due. root your droid, its smart
 
ya know....the bible says that no one will know the day or hour when the droid update will come out. But they will know when it is close......even at the door. So pray my children. Pray that it comes. Pray that it comes swiftly!
 
I think reading these comments is just free entertainment!!!! I like my droid it could be better but hey what's perfect??? Eveyone needs to chill you will get the update sooner or later hopefully sooner than later ;]

That pretty much sums it up for me. 2.1 isn't re-inventing the OS. While they may be giving us some additional features, it's certainly nothing to write home about. If they were actually deploying the fixes and enhancement requests that we all want, I would be doing backflips.

Regarding Flash, "They" in this case Verizon, Motorola, nor Google are not responsible for Flash so don't look for them to have any part of this. Adobe is responsible for this piece. What "They" are responsible for is getting us 2.1, which supposedly, is what is the minimum OS requirement for Flash to run on...

You are asking two entirely different questions. From what I've read, we aren't getting Flash 10.1 (from ADOBE!!!) until after we've received the 2.1 update (from Verizon!!!). So that's what the big deal is with the 2.1 update.

The web browser is significantly faster in both page rendering and scrolling.

The Gallery app is much nicer.

It provides the foundation for Flash on Android, so everyone can leap for joy the millisecond Adobe releases it. I, for one, couldn't care less about Flash and don't intend to install it.
