2.1 upgrade

Just upgraded my Xperia Mini Pro 10 to Android 2.1 but on the phone it still shows 1.6 firmware in the settings. How do I correct this?

Are you sure the software has been upgraded, does the phone look any different and are the features any different to when you first brought the phone ?

Yes there are a few different things on so I assume it has been upgraded-is it worth trying again to see if it sorts it? I downloaded directly from Sony Ericcson site and it said it was successful.

Sounds like you received a minor software upgrade rather than the 2.1 upgrade. This would show up in your 'About Phone' quite clearly.

Where are you based in the world and with what carrier? It may be that they haven't released the firmware upgrade yet.

You could try running the Sony Ericsson Update Service rather than the PC Companion as this sometimes gives a different result.

Thanks for reply-I am in the UK and am using Vodaphone. I did download from the Sony Ericsson site but not sure if it used PC Companion or not. I will give it another try and see what happens.

Vodaphone were slow of the mark with the upgrade for the big X10 so maybe they haven't got it organised for the little ones yet. Have you had a look at the SE Blog to see if your SI number is on their list?

It's a bit of a faff searching through for your number... I'd copy and paste both lists for the mini pro onto excel and then sort it numerically.

You could also ring Vodafone and ask if it has been released yet.

Checked the SI number which is 1238-9810 and this does not appear on the list yet so assume I will just have to wait and be patient. Should I get an alert to the phone when the update is available?

Just an update-have today contacted Vodaphone customer services who say that they have no official date yet for the 2.1 update and it could be 2-3 months!!
