Help 2.2.1 keeps on turning off usb debugging

Hey i currently use easytether to use my phone as a modem but every 5-10mins or so it turns off usb debugging which is quite annoying considering i need it active to use the easytether is there anyway around it to make my stock version of my samsung fascinate not turn off usb debugging.

I think it has to do with the usb mass storage because every time i connect via usb cable it goes to usb mass storage screen to connect the phone to the computer. :-P Much appreciated for whomever can fix this problem.

On an HTC, under menu -> settings, there's a Connect to PC option that will let you set the default and suppress the dialog (you can always change it on the fly when needed from the notification bar).

Sorry - don't know if that standard Android or just HTC, but I'd look around in settings for that sort of thing.

Also - check your options in the notifications - I understand that TouchWiz is rather advanced about that sort of thing there.

Best I can from a generic Android point of view, not owning a Fascinate.

Mine just started doing the very same thing today...only after the damn thing began pestering me to authorize an "update"....which I foolishly did. Now I have to enable debugging (which kicks out and disconnects you from the internet every five minutes)...plus I get this green USB Mass Storage thingy .... doggone it...I was JUST getting used to it and they change it...... I feel like taking a hammer to it. Any help would be appreciated. -Steveoreno-

Hmmm.

I think I was off-base as to the actual problem.

OK.

You guys might also consider the How to fix Froyo thread I've stickied in this sub-forum.

Hey guys, I just read this not sure how I even got here actually, but I'm using my asus laptop a bar called Banana's in san antonio texas, anyway my internet is through EasyTether, downloaded it for the second time after uninstalling (foolishly months ago) paid another 10 bucks, ( off-topic but anyone know how to get a refund of that 10 bucks? ), anyways I have EVO 4G the first phone they put out w/ SPRINT and I think here in lies your problem. From what I understand, you are on Verizon? Verizon is known for putting software/malware on your phones capping your bandwidth or forcing you to use less, I just read it in a recent issue of Wired (Google vs. Verizon vs. Apple), anyway my advice to you is switch to Sprint, and no I don't work for them. I'm just an average Joe who lucky for you stumbled upon this random thread happily enjoying my easytether on my evo with none of your problems. Screw Verizon as far as Im concerned, they also support the republican party and are suing the FCC over net neutrality (trying to privatize internet) so don't give them your money anymore! Come to Sprint with me :) they're the lesser of two evils. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? lol :D

Hey sorry, if it helps on mine I set the connection type to "Charge only" and then under Applications/Development/ (check the never turn off while charging thing ..don't know if that actually helps but that's my setup) and so far so good...now to do a quick analyses between Clear 4g dl bandwidth and Easytether via Spring 4g... I will post shortly! Cheers, Dave

UFOTech, Thanks...your post explains a lot. I went to Verizon and they played dumb.....told me to contact the good folks at JuneFabrics.com (who pioneered PDAnet) and I did....sent them an email explaining the problem. I have not heard back but I am sure they are very busy. Frigging Verizon.....the ONLY reason that I have this upgraded phone was to access the internet without paying their $50.00 a month internet fee (yup...verizon again).........it worked great right up to the point where I accepted their "Upgrade"....yea upgrade my ass...they just wanted to load it up with malware. I am not done with this...we have five phones on our account...they retract the malware or we switch to Sprint. Thanks for the insight. -Steve-
