Help 2.2.2 update

I just tried to unsuccessfully install some sort of update from the lg update tool. it appeared to be some sort of drivers. anywho I googled to see if I can find why it wouldn't install correctly and pulled up a bunch of articles about a 2.2.2 update for lg. am I the only one just hearing about this? has anyone successfully installed it and what is it like? also what about the driver update? it says its installed but the update tool doesn't reflect it?

I may be wrong but there's an update for the LG Ally for Verizon for 2.2.2 that just was released. Not the Optimus M.

I heard about that too and I thought that could've been it but all the articles kept saying it for the optimus one. isn't that what this phone originates from, so there for it would also receive the update?

If it did not say Optimus M specifically, then it is not for it. The updates are model specific because all are a little different.
