Help 2.2 Battery Manager Force Close

This fix was originally posted by Fabolous. Never have the force close any more after doing this:

"Try going into the 'sd card and phone storage' menu first, and then into battery manager."

Fixed it for me.

Thank you. It works for me as well. This is the first time this has happened since i own the droidx. I do know if it is an coincidence, but i installed 2 radio apps - pandora, iheartradio and then the Battery Manager stopped working. Once, the Battery manager started working again, I noticed iheartradio was using 90% of the battery. I deinstalled both radio apps.

i don't know if this helps...and i only skimmed everyone else's responses...but i just got my x a week ago and haven't really added anything yet...i just downloaded launcherpro (thinking i'll upgrade to the plus) and i randomly went into battery manager to see how much it was taking up...and it made me FC...i've NEVER had to FC the battery manager before this...i uninstalled launcherpro and it kept doing it...so i pulled the battery and it's back to normal now...can let you know if it stays normal...

wondering if launcherpro is the culprit?

I doubt that. If uninstalling LP fixed it, that'd be different.

It's a froyo thing, on their list of bugs-to-fixed.

I just got this problem. The phone is literally BRAND NEW. I have two games installed, no applications. I just checked it randomly, and it gives me that issue.

This is bullshit.

It's just the battery stats, nothing vital to the way the phone works, not that huge a deal. And Motorola has said they know about the problem and will have an update out that fixes it. So just deal with it like the rest of us have, and enjoy the rest of this awesome phone that works fine.

This doesn't only occur on the X I have a Droid 2 with the same issue. I have done all of the suggestions listed herer to no avail. Guess we'll have to wait for a SW update

True it isn't vital unless you're trying to run down a problem. Then understanding what is eating your battery becomes far more interesting.

Download Watchdog. It's a great way to determine what is actually eating your battery as a result of processing utilization.

I have the same problem on my X. Mine came from the store with 2.2 on it. I am running Launcher Pro and BatteryLife. I can reboot and get past the FC issue for a little while, but it starts again later. Plugging and unplugging from a wall charger seems to fix it for me. If I try it while still plugged in it does not work, only after unplugging.

I'm getting an error in the battery manager in 2.2

I get that new battery icon in the battery manager. When I click on it, I get an error saying "process com.android.settings has stopped unexpectedly."

Anyone else have this issue (I know some people said it does work) or have any ideas what I might be able to look at to fix this?

I am having the same issue and would like to know how to fix
