My droid X is running 2.2 leak with ApeX ROM and its deodexed.. i was wondering if i can completely start new so i dont have anymore bugs, glitches, reboots etc.. is there anyway where i can just jump to the real 2.2 with out a ROM on or anything?can i just start completely new with the real 2.2?

Go with the SBF, incredible. All the tools needed should be on the rootzwiki site. It's a little easier this time around because you don't need the patch to go into RSD.

Download RSD lite 4.8, and the new SBF. Flash you're phone. Pull it out after 100%. Wipe Data Wipe Cache. and you're all good bro.

Even though this is guaranteed to work for me, I still have to be drunk to get enough confidence to do it. lulz. I've SBF'd 3 times already. Might do it one more time for the new Fission.

I sbf'd back to 2.1 from 2.2 leaked... then I let the OTA download. I let it upgrade. Then rooted 2.2 and then loaded my nandroid back on that I had running before.

If you want the new baseband and bootloader, you will need the OTA.

I did what Jonathan did with no problems. In fact my wifi started working for WPA PEAP networks.

i noticed that after i updated to latest bootloader/baseband, chrome to phone works consistently now, which uses the C2DM feature.

no difference in signal strength, however.

I sbf'd from Leaked 2.2 to OTA and didn't lose any of my installed apps or settings.
