From Samsung Canada on facebook:

We are continuing to investigate issues that some users have reported while completing the upgrade to Android 2.2. In the interim, we are taking the extra precaution of temporarily suspending the upgrade as a download from Kies. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask that you contact 1-800-751-4078 or sh.support@samsung.com if you have any further questions. Many thanks.

I wish Samsung would just quit the mobile space and stick to TVs.

I bout a 50 DLP from them... months later it was covered with white dots. Thank goodness for Best Buy and the replacement plan.

So, they should stick to.... um.... stick to.... anyone?

:)

Yeah. The white dot problem along with the shadow effect. My 55" set was a victim.

Let's keep this up so that we can cause the start of a new sticky "All Things Samsung TVs"

they make great money on phones, you can bet they will keep them going as long as google keeps providing free software. Google wants more people on the net, using their products, so they make it profitable for places like Samsung to stay in the game, i bet they willl make more money on phones than on tv's. Developing and maintaining software costs a fortune, google covers that bill on the cells now.

Just got the news about Froyo from this article:

Looks like if your phone gets bricked, it takes 4 to 6 weeks to get a replacement as per some of the comments. I feel bad for folks stuck with Samsung Galaxy S phones, don't see Froyo coming around anytime soon. Add to this the news about the Nexus S having GPS problems and you got the perfect storm. When will Samsung stop screwing people over?

I've a 40" LCD for 3 years now. Still quite satisfied. Point and shoot camera and a hand held video camera too that are all great.

Just like most electronics mfg's, sometimes they put out crappy stuff. Do a search on Sony, Panasonic, etc and there will be a forum telling tales of how awful they are and blah blah blah.

I am not happy with my Cappy; Samsung should step up and fix the shut downs. However, I would expect the same response from any other mfg.

Then again, some of the problems people are encountering with their phones could be operator induced. :)

This only pertains to the Bell Canada version of the Vibrant. Nothing mentioned about the Captivate, unless you have a link that states otherwise.
