Root 2.2 to 2.1 and root.. now stuck at bootloader

good morning. one more questions guys. i try to flash to [ROM][WTF][BBQ] CyanogenMod-6 - No Sense at ALL! - V6.0.0 (08/28/2010) - xda-developers and i get error in sdcard/supersonic_6.0.zip. Status 7, Installation aborted. i just renamed the file from the origional and still same error.
i read somewhere else that i need to Wipe.. so i did data and cache and then Dalvik-cache too as it said and same thing..
2 things.. first i need to find out why i am having this probelm and second, do i need to wipe all my personal settings every time i want to run a different mod?
my recovery is RA by the way..

ok, rooted and running Fresh.. just got it up but wanted to share with you guys. not too sure why the other wouldnt work. also i reflashed to clockwork recovery and not using RA anymore... this way i can use the Rom Manager... now i just need to figure out why i rooted other than the wifi teather
