2.2 Update

Am I correct in that the 2.2 update is now available for the X?

When I select system updates I get this message, "Check for update was not available at this time."

Has anyone run into this problem?

Did you check to make sure your not on 2.2 already? it forces itself on most phones that aren't manually updated or on the leaked 2.2

Under your settings, Data Management, Social Applications is your Sync over WiFi only checked? If this is checked you will not be able to pull the update. If this is checked, uncheck this and you should be able to get the download then.
