Have you attempted to reboot your router? Thats what worked for me.

did you use your goldcard (if you had one)
was this an unbranded device or debranded (there is a difference, one needs a gold card and one doesnt)
if you have a debranded device and you update without gold card it kills the wifi

Hi mate

No I didn't - I hadn't even heard of them. :o

A couple of dumb-ass questions for you:
- How do you tell if your device is debranded or unbranded?
- I've now created a gold card so how do I resurrect wi-fi?

TIA :)

ok you will lose your apps etc as it will wipe the device (sdcard is safe) but you can do the following

download the latest pb99img.zip from shipped-roms bravo it should be labeled the same as this thread title for the version

place it on your SDcard and boot to bootloader (hold backkey + power)
it will prompt to install the file
make sure you rename it to PB99IMG.zip and make sure its not called PB99IMG.zip.zip due to windows hiding extentions for known file types

Thanks mate

Do this with the file copied onto the gold inserted? Is there any disadvantage going back to HBOOT 0.80?

Cheers
Kav

no problem using the gold card to do this, my day to day card is a goldcard

this will have 0.93hboot mate

the file you are downloading should be called
PB99IMG_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.zip

Meant to say, are these two one and the same?

- PB99IMG_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49 .00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.zip
- RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed

yes
however, RUU you run from the pc and you need to makesure you have the htc sync drivers installed an also hboot drivers installed
boot to bootloader and then run the RUU

or you can just rename the zip to PB99IMG.zip and flash by booting to hboot with the file on the root of the sdcard

Cool - thanks mate, much appreciated.

A couple more Noddy questions then I'll leave you in peace (promise) ;-)

- Is this a stock ROM?
- Will my device be rooted after the flash?
- If not, will I be safe to receive OTA updates providing I have my gold card in? (I saw what you said earlier about having your gold card as you regular SD card. This would be my preferred option but I have a 32Gb card to hold all of my music and I couldn't get it through the gold card routine).

Thanks again mate.

YEP, I know it takes a while but copy all the content on to your pc if you have enough space and then format the drive and go through the goldcard routine, once done copy the stuff back

Thanks once again mate

I've just 'gold-carded' my 32 Gb so I'll use that day-to-day.

Next little niggle is that the RUU on shipped-ROMS.com shows as a 165Mb file but completes downloading at around 36Mb and shows as a proper packaged file.

Thanks mate - it's OK. Just tried again and it's downloaded fine. Now just trying to summon up the courage to install it ;-)

Thanks for you assistance :-D

Hi,

I also have difficulties getting the PB99IMG_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.zip file from shipped-roms.com - they must be swamped and connections must get resetted because it stops at about 15% of the file.

How about the following file: PB99IMG_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.zip - it doesn't mention _Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_ and is 2.29.405.5 instead of 2.29.405.2 plus the release # is different. Is that still for the HTC Desire?

Thanks

405.5 is a different carrier, ill check it where are you finding that file?

found it, dont know what it is its not HTC standard for 405 which is weird but it is for the desire

Thank you very much for the file on your dropbox. I'll use that one just to be sure. Actually, my carrier is Bell Mobility and I'm in Quebec, Canada, I hope it's adequate?

I found the 2.29.405.5 file on the shipped-roms.com FTP site (ftp://shipped-roms.com/Bravo)

Is the 2.29.405.2 still an "European" version? Do you think that "2.29.405.5" would be an "Americas" version?!

Thanks

i think there are only a couple of devices, gsm and cdma
if its gsm then 405.2 would be fine
I cant really answer your question about it being an american version as i dont know
i didnt realise that file existed as if you go through the normal website that file is not present

Sorry mate - me again ;-)

I'm getting an 'ERROR (140) BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR' message. It's telling me to get the correct ROM upgrade utility and to try again.

I'm presently on build number 2.29.405.2 CL262770 release-keys and software number 2.29.405.2

hmmm
if you are able to get that info im guessing the rom menus are still accessible?

Hi Mate

Did the RRU version via Windows and HTC Sync so I saw all of that on the PC. I'm just downloading your mirror-hosted PB99IMG version now to try the zip method straight off the SD card.

Brute force is the only way I know ;-)
