Root 2.3.3 on boost mobile evo?

My friend recently got his evo hooked up on boost. Is there a way for it to upgrade to 2.3.3? At the moment its at 2.2.

He wants to update his phone. I wasn't sure if it was restricted to direct Sprint customrrs.

welp here a step by step way to flash
but if you mean flash to boost moblie later on i will release a guide to help all in the community since i joined i havent really posted so its bottle necking me thinking im a bot.
what you can do is download it. put it on you sd card. then shut down your phone. wait tell its fully off.from there hold the volume down key. then press the and hold the power button. it will take you to the boot screen.from there go to recovery. i use clockworkmod program. from there you make a backup always. trust me save your self a headache. then wipe you cache and dalvik cache so you dont corrrupt any thing. then find flash zip on bootloader screen. find the file flash it and wahLA

I moved your thread to the "All Things Root" subforum because your friends' Evo is on Boost and must be rooted to be on Boost. Plus you'll get the appropriate support here.

Since your friend is rooted, all he has to do is flash a GB (2.3.3) ROM.
