This is a bit disappointing...the Nexus S is supposed to be their flagship device and I haven't seen an update of any kind in months. I never saw v2.3.6, and it was pulled a while ago, where's the update to replace it?2.3.5 was bugfixes for the Nexus S 4G (for Sprint in the US). The 2.3.6 broke hotspot tethering so it was pulled. The 2.3.7 update is just to add the Wallet service, again it's just for the S4G on Sprint (because AT&T and T-Mobile don't support the wallet service ...)

NO! I want my money...er, I mean update now!Haha, calm down man. It's not ATI with monthly driver updates. It takes time to develop things. I mean nVidia does just fine with a couple official driver updates a year.

I don't think there is a way in the stock firmware to disable the update check except to disable data completely which prevents any data usage. But you don't have to install the update - you get a notification that it's available, but you are not forced to update the device - just ignore the update.Hi everyone,
Got my Nexus S a few weeks ago - first smart phone! 8)
How do I disable system updates on my phone? I don't want to update to Gingerbread 2.3.6.
Thanks in advance!
I got the 2.3.6 update pushed to my Nexus S a few days ago and I see no difference. My wifi hotspot works although it did replace my hotspot settings with it's own settings, but still works fine.
