Root 2.3.4 Rootable after HTCDev unlocked bootloader?

So i tried downgrading to root and kept getting stuck on the last step. I have unlocked the bootloder with htcdev. Is there another way to root unlocked? Or any advice on getting stuck on the last step of the downgrade?

Did you install the update that just rolled out a couple days ago? If you did, the root process that used to root this phone no longer works.

With hTCdev unlock you are basically rooted. As I understand it it's s-on so you can't install kernels or radios. I think there is a work around for ROMs with a kernel involving boot.img.

I rooted using the HTC unlock tool. You can download clockwork and super user on your pc. Place superuser on your sd card. Put the clockwork download in the same folder as fastboot. I renamed it recovery.img then through command prompt navigate to the folder where you have fastboot then type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" it should install clockwork. Then reboot into recovery and manually install superuser from your sd card. That's the gist of how I rooted. I've done it successfully on two different phones
