Help 2.3.4 Slowing phone down

Lurker
Hi I am new to this but was wondering if someone could please help me. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 which I absolutely adore. I recently upgraded the firmware to 2.3.4 through Kies and it has caused a whole world of problems. To name but a few:
1. When I open the messaging function, it will display numbers for about 4 seconds before changing those numbers to contact names. The same problem comes up when I get a call, the incoming number will display but it will take a few seconds to change that to a contact name.
2. When adding details to an existing contact, I can't just put the name of the contact in to search it. I have to manually go into contacts, find the contact and then click edit.

In general the phone has just completely slowed down and it is annoying me to no end!

I have deleted all unnecessary apps on there and it has not made a difference and it was only after the firmware upgrade that these issues arose. Help!!!

Hi mate,

Try the following: back up all your important data first, then go to Applications, settings, privacy and then select the factory reset/full reset option. Make sure you tick the erase all data checkbox if thats also there.

Wait for this to finish/reboot, and you will find that the problems/bugs are gone (but you will remain up to date on 2.3.4.)

now just put your stuff back onto your phone and you're good to go x
