Help 2.3.6 update problem

Hi,

I have updated my samsung galaxy gio to 2.3.6 from 2.3.3 when kies prompted to update. after that i have observed some good and bad things. now i dont see my network service provider name anywhere. can anyone help me how to find on which network i am. this would help me to cut costs when i am on roaming.

That's odd because Kies said my phone was up to date already and I'm using 2.3.4
