2.3 on Desire

I know its probably been asked heaps but is there any word on when HTC will be releasing an official version of android 2.3 for the Desire (if they are actually going to be doing it in the first place)?
 
I asked as there was no new information, was wondering if there was anything new I couldn't find whilst trawling the net
 
Well as a long time user of the Oxygen roms, there new one is 2.3 and its awesome on my Desire. There latest rom rc6 has lots of great improvements on there past versions. Of course you must be SU (rooted phone).
