Root 2.3 roms?

UD 3.0 looks like it will be my favorite once it's out of beta. Trying CM7 tonight. (Some good gingerbread "flavored" froyo roms I've tried are Project Elite 4.1 and Bugless Beast 6.2.2.) You can find all these in the forums.

I'm using the Project Elite 4.1 "flavored" rom right now and like the heck out of it. Not a full gingerbread, but definitely a good taste of it.

Someone be sure to post a thread in here when EVERYTHING works. There's no way I can use any of the current ROMs as a daily driver. I'm going going to enable/disable airplane mode after every call to get data or deal with other annoying issues.

I'm happy with BB 6.2.1 (that looks just like GB and has the keyboard at least).

While it's technically beta, the UD 3.0 ROM is amazing. The only reason I'm not using it as my daily ROM is because 3.0 is missing some of the customization tweaks I've come to love with UltimateDroid. I can't speak for any others, but I do know that this one works great.

Yeah, I keep coming back to it, and amazingly, it gives me better battery life?! Don't know how it does it, but "if it ain't broke..."

CM has just started the nightlies back with CM7. it works more flawlessly than UD, I have well over 120 MB of space left after reinstalling all my old apps and after adding a few more I had to remove with UD, and the camera works.

All GB ROMs at this point are still works in progress though....

Can you apply the nightly build over the previously installed CM7? Or do you have to do a fresh install?

Not sure actually - I just got notified about a new build available for CM - gonna try it without a wipe and see what happens.

In my case, though, I may want to wipe anyway - my market is broken, after I install an app it disassociates itself with my market.

I tried out UD3.0 today and it looks and runs fairly well on my phone. What I absolutely hated was the 3D app drawer. I find it annoying and superfluous. I'm also a hater of the 3D Gallery, so that kinda tells you what my preferences are. Anyways, I don't know if that is a "feature" of UD or if it's stock gingerbread. I'm hoping there's at least a way to turn that stuff off. I spent about 30 minutes going through a lot of the settings menus to see if I could find something to disable it, but nothing really jumped out at me.

I'm back to my nandroid backup of rooted stock Froyo and my nice flat app drawer. I just installed UD3.0 to see what GB was all about. I just hope that this 3D trend doesn't continue. I absolutely hate it. Wish there was a way to turn it off in the gallery. I don't want my photos tilting if I tilt my phone!

3D app drawer was introduced a while back now - but most of us hate it.

Most of us also use alternate launchers (LauncherPro an ADW seem to be the 2 most popular).

If you want to really try some fun, install the latest CM nightly.
