2 Big problems with CM10

I finally got CM10 installed and everything works except for two major issues. and they are dealbreakers. Please help.

1) every time I press "speak destination" in Google Navigation it force closes saying "Unfortunately, Maps has stopped." However, when I use Google Maps I appear to get a GPS lock on. I cleared Maps' data in TB but that didnt help.

2) I cant figure out how to save picture texts to my sdcard.

thanks.

1: The google speak I'm not sure about. If you haven't done so yet, maybe install gapps package from recovery then try it.

2: The save pic to sdcard is a known issue as far as I remember, and I haven't seen a fix or workaround yet. Only way I an tell you is hook the phone up via the PC, and transfer from the internal to the external.

A pain I know but that's the price we pay if we wanna use a work in progress software.

wouldn't you be able to use a separate mms.apk? or (i hate suggesting this) GoSMS

Sadly no, as there is a rampant gps locking issue in JB roms. I even found some places where it said the Nexus phones with the "official" release of JB on their phones had the exact same issue.

People somehow think the issue does not exist, and think I'm out of my mind and exaggerating stuff when I mention it, but I have researched majorly for the last 2 weeks, from having this plague on my phone and every jb rom

I've searched, and finally stumbled on to this issue. It's a well known issue with the community, and you can see that if you google it yourself, try, like gps lock issues with jelly bean or something similar, you'll see it does not pertain to this phone only, but it's multiple carriers and phone that have this same exact issue.

So for now, as much as I really do love jb and the roms out there, I am sticking with ics for now, as everything works on it, including gps.
There are a "few" that don't have this issue, but the majority of people ARE having this issue.

Gps for me is a MUST have as I port cars for a living, so I use it.

I am not having the GPS issue at all. I don't use it anyway tho... unless I'm lost :). Lucky me I guess. It locks right on

True, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
As I said it happens even on an "official" release of jb, so it's a major thing. Most have it while some do not have it, but if it's on an "official" release and they have the exact same issue, then it's a huge thing I'd think. Like having a really expensive and nice car with a battery only, but it has no motor, but you can listen to the awesome radio, and fiddle with the nice gadgets it comes with, but you can't go anywhere.

I did a search for "gps lockon issues" and got multiple hits of this same issues, and came across this link which states the isues with the nexus official release of JB http://www.androidcentral.com/psa-galaxy-nexus-gps-problems-jelly-bean-theres-easy-fix
That's just one site of many that are claiming to have the exact same issues with this, and it does not pertain to just a single carrier or phone make/model, it's all over the spectrum.
