Help 2 Questions on Skyrocket

Hello everyone,

I just purchased a galaxy s II skyrocket a few days ago and am having issues with two things.

1. sending text or calling using the voice option. It doesn't seem to recognize the people in my contacts for it. Instead of putting the name in the to: section is puts it in the message body section with the message.

2. group texting. If I want to have a conversation with more than one person via texting it send with no issues but replies dont stay in the same message window and goes into one for just me and the person who replied.

Please help!!

Hello, Gary..

Welcome to Android Forum. Have you installed any other application(s) that are affiliated with messaging? If not, try using Go sms pro available on the Android market. Just to see if the problem still persist.

Also, you might want to check in with the other users of your device. I'll move your thread over to that area. I'm guessing your device isn't the HD version.. hopefully, someone else might have another solution for this problem.

This is not really an issue, but more so a dumb way that samsung and htc implemented their group texting. I know when my friend had the mytouch, he would group text, but when someone replied, he wouldn't get the original message sent to the person, which causes people to sometimes not know what the response is about. I tried handcent and sms pro, it won't fix it because it is just the way Samsung designed it....yep stupid imo. I do know for a fact that Motorola or rather my Motorola Atrix didn't do that, when I would send a group text, it will actually split it up to each user's thread instead of creating a group thread that never gets a response.
