*228

Got a msg fro Verizon saying I needed to issue a *228 from my phone. I'm rooted, not stock.

What's a *228, and should I do this?

Idk why you would have gotten that message. *228 updates your roaming capabilities and programs your phone. It doesnt work on 4g phones. If you dial it the call just disconnects.

Curious... both Bolts got this message. Well, I'll just ignore it.

Verizon lately has been having (again) glitchy outages and strange reports of texts going to the wrong recipients, etc. A prompt such as you describe seems to fit in with that.

I'm beginning to think that their jump on LTE/4G was done with a bit of haste. Not sure.. but speculating based on what I'm seeing posted here and there.
