2D Pictures With 3D Camera

Is it possible to set the camera on the Evo V 4G to take a plain old 2D picture?

I am not interested in 3D, but need decent 2D.

absolutely. just make sure you set the camera toggle switch on the side to 2D mode

You can even convert your 3D shots to 2D.

Just make sure that you go into settings and adjust the resolution, by default it's not set for full resolution.
