Is there a 3.0 android update if so when will it be available? will it be available for the moment? and what does it do differently?

so what should we do with our moments should we just get rid of them
no, as of yet, still no fully working version above 2.1. there is a cm6(2.2) alpha version over at sdx that some brave souls have been running, but i think it's still super buggy so i haven't messed with it. however, the crappier version of our phone (samsung intercept) just got 2.2 so i'm hoping somebody can port that over for our phones soon.

There is no 3.0 yet. First everyone thought that Gingerbread was going to be 3.0, but it's 2.3. Then everyone assumed that Honeycomb would be 3.0, but there's been some evidence that it will be 2.4 and may be exclusively for tablets.
The Moment won't be getting 2.2 officially, though with 2.2 out for the hardware similar Intercept I would expect some decent 2.2 roms to surface eventually. It certainly won't be getting 2.3 or beyond. I have doubts that any phone available today will be upgradable to 3.0 whenever it's released. Considering how much Google adds with a "0.1" increment, a "1.0" jump would indicate a pretty big change in functionality and require new hardware.

For apps2sd you simply need inxane kernel, deodex theme template and universal apps2sd all found on sdx. There is another thread on here with the info how I got it to work. Just read up in the Moment 2.1 development and Kernel/ROM thread over at SDX for more. There are several options.
